CLINICAL,BACTERIOLOGY OF EXACERBATION OF COPD INPATIENT TREATMENT AT THAI NGUYEN CENTRAL HOSPITAL

Abstract:
Objectives:
To describe clinical and bacteriological characteristics in sputum by
quantitative culture method in patients with COPD exacerbation; Determine the
relation of bacteriological results to clinical characteristics in patients
with acute COPD. Methods: 118 patients were treated for acute COPD at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital. Descriptive research method.
Results: The average age is 72.34 ± 9.77; Common symptoms in the study subjects
were persistent dyspnea (54.2%); alveolar murmur decreased (89.0%); increased
breathing rate (88.1%);27.7% of patients had positive sputum culture results. In
which Haemophilus influenza accounts for the highest rate (30.3%). There is a
correlation between sputum culture results and antibiotics before admission and
fever symptoms of patients (p <0.05).
