Abstract:
Antenatal HIV testing is one of the most important factors to prevent early mother to child transmission of HIV. This study is a descriptive cross-sectional survey of 200 pregnant women in order to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice on prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV. The results of study show that 42,5% pregnant women have good knowledge, and only 24% pregnant women know about child can contract the virus in breastfeeding. According to the result, the percent of pregnant women did HIV test in pregnant with good knowledge and good adttitude is significantly higher than ones with lack ofknowledge and attitude (p<0.05).
