Solutions to enhance the effectiveness of prevention of hypertension are very important Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of community-based measures to prevent hypertension in 5 communes/wards in Tuyen Quang province over 02 years of intervention. Methods: Cross-sectional mixed method study. Results: Behavior changes in the management and treatment of hypertensive patients in intervention communes were quite clear. The proportion of good knowledge increased from 70.0% to 96.6%, and the figure for good attitude increased from60.1% to 88.8%. The proportion of patients receiving hypertensive management and treatment in the intervention communes increased from 28.4% to 47.3%, the intervention efficiency was 49.96%. The percentage of hypertensive patients who were consulted by community health workers increased from 24.4% to 99.6%, the intervention efficiency reached 290.8%. The proportion of home-based treatment adherence in the intervention communes increased from 12.0% to 28.52%,the intervention efficiency was 132.22%. Conclusion: Solutions to prevent hypertension for people in 5 communes/wards of Tuyen Quang province are effective after 2 years of intervention.
