Abstract:
Objectives:
Evaluate the prenatal ultrasound diagnosic of twin-to-
twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), compared with the postnatal result.
Meterials and method:
Prospective study, described 25 cases of
TTTS prenatal diagnosis qualify under ultrasound. Postnatal check:
birth weight and evaluate general placental anatomy.
Results:
100% of the cases are correctly diagnosed monozygotic
twins with ultrasound. 100% of the cases have difference in birth weight
more than 20%. 62% of the donor twins have velamentous or marinal
cord insertion. Anastomoses were seen in 95% placentas with TTTS.
Conclusions:
Ultrasonography has high value in the diagnosis of TTTS.
The rate of velamentous or marinal cord insertion in the donor twins is high
