Overview
Abstract:
This
paper focused on the adsorption of MB in aqueous
solution on carbon derived from bamboo stalks. The experiments were
conducted using the following parameters: absorbent mass of 0.05g; the solution
volume of 25mL; shaking speed of 200 rounds/minute; equilibrium time of 90
minutes at room temperature (25±10C); pH 7.0. Maximum adsorption capacity calculated
by the Langmuir isothermal model was
250 mg/g at 250C. In the temperature range of 298 to
318K, the values of ΔGo < 0; ΔHo = -14.965 kJ/mol
implicates that the process is self-inflicted and exothermic. The result indicates that, the adsorption of MB on
the carbon from bamboo stalks obeys Lagergren's second-order apparent kinetic
model.
