RESULT OF ENDOSCOPIC POLYPECTOMY FOR COLORECTAL POLYPS OVER 10 MM IN SIZE AT VINH PHUC PROVINCIAL GENERAL HOSPITAL
Overview
Abstract:
Objectives: Describing clinical and endoscopic
characteristics of colorectal polyps over 10mm in size
and assessing the effectiveness and complications of
endoscopic polypectomy. Subject and methods: A
descriptive cross-sectional study on 121 patients at
Vinh Phuc provincual general hospital from October
2022 to June 2023. Colonoscopy was performed to
evaluate characteristics of polyps over 10mm in size
and we perform the technique of cutting polyp using
hot snare polypectomy, edoscopic musocal reception,
endoscopic submusocal disseption, and plus injector,
hemoclips or endoloop to stop and prevent bleeding.
Complications were detected and treated during
procedure. Result: Age: 59,22 ±14,11; The rate of
polyps were seen most frequently at sigmoid colon
(32,2%) and rectum (30,6%). Stalked polyps (77,7%).
Polyp >2cm in size accounted for 31,4%. There were
95,0% neoplastic polyps. The rate of successful
polypectomy was 100%. There was no case of
perforation and 8 cases had bleeding but successfully
treated by clipping. Conclusion: Colorectal polyps
over 10mm in size are mainly adenomatous ones.
Endoscopic polypectomy can be done successful and
safe even for large colorectal polyp when we apply
submucosal injection and using clip or endoloop to
stop and prevent bleeding
