RESULTS OF TREATMENT OF UTERINE FIBROIDS BY SURGERY AT THAI NGUYEN NATIONAL HOSPITA

Abstract:
Objective: To review the results of surgery to treat uterine fibroids from 1/2020 to 12/2021 at Thai Nguyen National Hospital.
Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study of 177 patients diagnosed and histopathological results with uterine fibroids after laparoscopic and open surgery.
Results: The surgical technique included 48 cases of laparoscopic surgery and 129 cases of open surgery. Indications for laparoscopic surgery are mainly cervical ectropion cases in the front and back of the uterus with the rate of 52.1% and 39.6%; the rate of open surgery according to the position of the front of the uterus, the back of the uterus, and the fundus of the uterus was 41.9%, 37.2%, and 17.1%, respectively. There were 46/48 cases of total hysterectomy and 2 cases of fibroid removal in laparoscopic surgery; the rate of partial and total hysterectomy was 49.6% and 48.1%, respectively, in open surgery and there were 3 cases of fibroid removal. The time of laparoscopic was 116.09 ± 10.22 minutes; the time of open surgery in partial hysterectomy was 86.2 ± 17.49 minutes, and the total hysterectomy was 95.97±14.19 minutes.
Conclusion: Surgical treatment of uterine fibroids includes many methods of laparoscopic surgery, and open surgery, partial/total hysterectomy, and with/without two ovarian removals. laparoscopic and open Surgery ensures safety and good treatment effect; based on the characteristics of Uterine Fibroids and the general characteristics of the patient, choose the appropriate surgical method.
