medical and pharmaceutical facilities in Cao Bang province in 2021;

Subjects and methods: All the private medical and pharmaceutical facilities in 10 districts and city of Cao Bang province. Total 282 facilities included.

Results: The most popular type of private healthcare in Cao Bang province is the specialized clinic (136 clinics, accounting for 95.7%). The most popular private pharmaceutical practice in Cao Bang province was the drug retail, of which pharmacies accounted for 48.4% and drugstores accounted for 45.7%. The reasons patients choose these private clinics were the short waiting time, accounting for the highest percentage of 56.4%; followed by thoughtful guidance 16.9% and warm welcome 9.8%; The province has issued documents on management of private medical and pharmaceutical facilities together with independent inspections. Of the 142 inspected facilities, 02 facilities were found with no license and some common errors such as not listing the full price 3.5%, and improperly storing dietary supplements 4.9%.

Conclusion:There were 282 private medical and pharmaceutical facilities in Cao Bang province, contributing to creating favorable conditions for people to choose appropriate medical examination and treatment services. Recommendation: It is necessary to continue promoting inspection and state management of private medical and pharmaceutical facilities establishments in the area.
