SLEEP QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF MEDICAL STUDENTS AT THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

Abstract:
The objective of the study is to describe the current status of sleep
quality and identify some factors related to sleep quality of students
at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy using a crosssectional descriptive research method. The study conducted direct
interviews with 400 students through a questionnaire designed to suit
the study. Data were entered using Excel software and processed
using SPSS 26.0 software. The results showed that: The rate of
students with poor sleep quality was 59.0%; of which, the rate of
students with high sleep latency was 78.3%, the number of students
sleeping was 5-6 hours/day. Sleep quality disorders accounted for the
majority (78.8%). Daytime dysfunction accounted for more than 2/3
of the total number of students participating in the survey (68.3%).
There were factors that significantly affected the sleep quality of
students including: psychological pressure, diet, accommodation and
noise. The reality of poor sleep quality among medical students is
quite high, influenced by many subjective and objective factors.
